Bio: Sweetwater Revival is a premiere southern gospel all-ladies quartet that hails from our own state of Minnesota.
Founder Katie Paull has been singing since she was three years old. She’s a former member of the New Speers and recently relocated to Minneapolis after living in Nashville for five years. During her years in Nashville, she spent time with an array of fantastic talents such as Rebecca St. James, Vestal Goodman, The Stamps & The Blackwoods. “Minnesota is where I grew up and to bring the music I love home, is a true blessing. Southern Gospel is just that – Southern. But people in Minnesota are hungry and excited to hear the music that the Lord has given Sweetwater Revival. I feel so thankful to be used by Him; I am unworthy of His presence and am overwhelmed each time He chooses to use me. I once heard it said, ‘Christ bought me, and He can spend me however He wants.’ This is the prayer of my heart.”
Amy Ayash has performed in a variety of venues professionally, is a former member of the black gospel group “Praise Groove”, and her solo recording “Lord of the Harvest” received airtime on a variety of Radio Stations, including KTIS Radio. She is an accomplished musician who enjoys playing the piano, organ, guitar, & percussion, and in the past has played bass guitar & cello. Having performed numerous solo concerts, she is a sought after worship leader for 20+ years and has dabbled successfully in musical theater and songwriting. As a stellar vocalist & musician, with a true knack for harmony, her ultimate desire is to serve The Lord.
Lisa Roers — otherwise known by her stage name Lisa Gabriel — is no stranger to the professional music scene. Her passion for music began at the tender age of four, when she inherited not only her great-grandfather’s Pianette (a mini piano with only 73 keys, vs the typical 88! ) , but also his love, his talents, and his passion for music. Lisa has completed two solo recording projects which feature original compositions & highlight both her vocal and instrumental talents. She enjoys expanding those instrumental talents when she has time. In addition to being proficient on piano, flute, and tin-whistles, she continues to hone her skills on the djembe, guitar, ukulele, and saxophone. Despite any fine-tuning of talents, accolades or accomplishments Lisa has collected over the years, her greatest desire is to serve Jesus Christ. It is her prayer that the talents God has gifted her with, will be used to glorify Him, and that through her music others may come to know the transforming power of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Kayla Krizek is absolutely thrilled to be singing with Sweetwater Revival ! A Twin Cities native, she grew up listening to Southern Gospel music in her grandma’s kitchen and singing solos as a little girl at church. After attending her first Gaither Homecoming concert and meeting some of her favorite singers in person, she was hooked! Kayla attended Northwestern College and participated in almost every music and drama ensemble imaginable, winning numerous awards and scholarships. She discovered a passion for performing and soon began appearing in community musical theatre productions throughout the Twin Cities – Beth in Little Women, Liesl in The Sound of Music, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In the summer of 2010 Kayla married her husband Elliott, who currently serves as a youth pastor in Wisconsin. They currently reside in Minnesota, where Kayla continues to teach music at a large private Christian school. “The Lord’s timing in bringing together this particular group of ladies “for such a time as this” is so exciting, and an overwhelming blessing! I leave every rehearsal refreshed, encouraged, and wrapped in love. We can’t wait to share God’s love and power with you through song!”
